ʻIolani Palace — Kamaʻāina Sundays

Kamaʻāina Sundays welcome all Hawaiʻi residents to ʻIolani Palace — the only official royal residence in the United States — for a free day of culture, entertainment, and hands-on activities. It’s held on the second Sunday of every month, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What’s included

• Free entry for Hawaiʻi residents (one complimentary ticket per person)
• Free self-led audio tours of the Palace’s first and second floors — first 500 attendees
• Hawaiian cultural workshops, hula, and music
• ʻOno local food and vendors

A valid Hawaiʻi State ID, driver’s license, or proof of Hawaiʻi residency is required for each ticket. Come early — audio tours are limited to the first 500 guests.

Plan your visit

The Richards Street gate opens at 8:30 a.m.; activities and tours run 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Free parking is available at the Civic Center Municipal Parking Garage (enter on S. Beretania Street), and metered street parking is free on Sundays. No parking on Palace grounds.
